The PDF Editor opens a document in a full editing workspace rather than a single-purpose form. You can add and edit text directly on the page, draw and highlight, insert images and signatures, add sticky notes and shapes, redact areas, crop pages and rearrange the page order — then export once with everything applied. Rendering and editing are handled by a WebAssembly build of MuPDF running in a background worker, so large documents stay responsive and nothing is uploaded. Undo and redo cover every action, and work in progress is autosaved locally so an accidental tab close does not cost you the session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit text that is already in the PDF?

Yes. Switch to text editing mode and click an existing line to change its wording. How cleanly it reflows depends on how the PDF was produced — documents exported from word processors edit far more predictably than scanned pages, which contain images of text rather than text.

Does it work on scanned documents?

You can annotate, highlight, redact and add new text on top of a scan, but the scanned text itself is an image and cannot be edited as text. Run the file through OCR first if you need the underlying words to become editable and searchable.

Is my work saved if I close the tab?

Edits are autosaved to your browser's local storage as you go, so reopening the same document usually restores your session. It is still local-only storage, so clearing site data or switching devices loses it — export when you are done.

Is there a page limit?

No hard limit. Pages are rendered on demand rather than all at once, so documents of several hundred pages open fine. Very large files are bounded by your device's available memory.
